A new name and a re-energised brand
Our work with Pro Bono Bio led us to a rename and rebrand of the company. The existing company name was confusing. With a new CEO at the helm it was time for a fresh start and to purge old associations as the business moved into its next phase. Over a period of six-months we teamed with the senior management, key personnel and the Board to distil the essence of the company, clarify values, mission and key messages. together we formulated a brand story highly relevant to the key audiences.
The new company name, Ascension, reflects an aspiration. ‘Aiming to raise treatment standards’ by applying knowledge and expertise to serious science, and using patented technologies to treat medical conditions in unconventional but safe ways. Inspiration was taken from a remote island of the same name in the South Atlantic. Ascension Island became the planet’s first artificial ecosystem, once a barren volcanic landscape with initially only a single tree is now home of the aptly named Green Mountain, one of the most cited and debated examples of wholly new combinations of species, with no historical equivalent, brought about through human intervention. The island drew parallels with both the company, and their proprietary science.
Ascension is using their science in two core areas. Marketed pain products which incorporate the successful Flexiseq range, a topical drug-free gel for lubricating the cartilage in joints to relieve pain and stiffness, and improve joint function associated with all stages of osteoarthritis. Ascension are also developing a pipeline of therapies offering real hope for Haemophilia A sufferers. Every step brings new products closer the possibility of safer, lower cost and more effective new products for patients.
Everything Ascension does is driven by a determination to make a difference where it really matters – people living their best life possible. When it comes to healthcare, they aim higher.
